Hyde Park - How well did Instagram downloads work without installing apps?

I prefer not installing a separate app for something I only do occasionally. A browser tool feels lighter because I can use it when needed and then simply close the tab. That also keeps my phone and laptop cleaner. For public Instagram photos, videos, and Reels, how well did downloads work for you without installing anything extra?
